Your kid's safety is our number one goal in kid's ministry. All of our kid's ministries provide a loving, safe environment for children. Each of our volunteers is required to be a member of the church and must go through an application process that includes a background check, fingerprint screening, and ministry specific training.
When attending our Sunday morning kid's classes, children are required to check-in with their parents in order for each family to receive matching identification tags. These tags are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion, and parents will be given their own matching tag to bring back for check-out. During checkout, parents will need to show their tag to their child’s teacher in order for their child to be released back to them.
NURSERY (Infants – 3 year olds)
On Sunday mornings, we want the youngest attenders to experience the love of Jesus through our care for them. For infants to three-year-olds we look to create an environment that is safe, welcoming and purposeful. During their class, these kids enjoy singing songs, hearing Bible stories, and playing with other children.
FAQ
Where do I go when I arrive?
You can find the nursery registration counter located in the south lobby.
What time does nursery registration open?
Nursery classes open 15 minutes before the service and close 15 minutes after the service.
Do you have any guidelines for parents before checking in their children?
Remember to label all items belonging to your child. That way everything that your child came in with will be sure to find their way back home.
What security measures do you have in place?
Your child’s safety is one of our top priorities. Along with being required to be a member of our church to serve, all nursery volunteers must go through a screening process that includes a written application and a finger-print background check. Along with this, we have a strict policy which requires there be 2 adults in the room at all times.
Our registration system ensures that every child receives a name tag with a family specific code. Parents will also receive a tag with your family's matching code on it. This tag ensures that only you are able to pick up your children at the end of service. If you’re visiting for the first time, please be sure to fill out the registration form once you arrive.
Do you have a room for nursing mothers?
We have a nursing mother's room available for mothers that is located off the north hallway in the worship building.
What is the Nursery well child policy?
To minimize the chance of spreading illness, children who sho signs of sickness will not be accepted into the nursery environment. We require that children be fever-free for 24 hours before entering the nursery. This is for the health and protection of all children and volunteers. You are encouraged to bring your child back as soon as he or she is well. If an illness is discovered after a child is in the classroom, your child will be separated from the other children and a member of our Nursery volunteers will contact you.
Upon recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should not be taken from the home with any of the following conditions: Fever, Vomiting, Diarrhea (even if associated with teething or medication), any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, strep throat, flu, or any other contagious or infectious disease, Common cold from onset through one week, Sore throat, Croup, Junky or barky cough, phlegm-filled or productive cough, any contagious or unexplained rash, Pink eye or other eye infections, cloudy or green runny noses or persistent cough, any communicable diseases.
SUNDAY SCHOOL (September-June)
On Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 am, children, babies through 6th grade, gather to learn and grow in their understanding of who Jesus is and what he’s done for us. Each class provides age-specific teaching and learning activities that are geared towards engaging children and helping them understand the Gospel. Our check-in locations are at the nursery (south lobby of main building) or right outside the gym (east side of "B" building).
Each of our classes is led by trained teachers and leaders who are committed to God’s Word and a desire to foster spiritual growth in the hearts and minds of our kids. We are currently using a multi-year curriculum created by Truth 78, which is meant cultivate a big view of God, his Word, and God’s heart for the world to know him.
Our ultimate goal is to come alongside parents as they train their children in the ways of God. We hope that week by week, we fulfill the Lord’s command to “tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.” (Ps. 78:4)
We love the value of families worshipping together and the beautiful opportunity kids have by learning from their parents and grandparents as we sing and gather around God’s Word. Because of this parents are free to keep their children with them in the worship service, or welcome to have them attend children's classes. Children who attend these classes will need to check in with their parents at the nursery (south lobby).
During our worship service on Sunday mornings, children, babies through 1st Grade, have the option of attending our nursery and children’s classes during the entire service. Children in 3rd-4th grade start off in the worship service and then are dismissed before the sermon. Children, 5th grade and above, stay with their families to listen to the sermon. We have these kids sermon notes available for kids at the Connection Center.
During the children's classes, kids are taught the grand story of the Bible (Genesis to Revelation) as trained teachers use The Gospel Project Curriculum.
Children ages kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to join us on Wednesday nights for a fun-filled time of Bible stories, singing, exciting games, building friendships, and memorizing Bible verses. Awana meets on Wednesday evenings, September through May, from 6:15-8:00 pm.
Visitors are welcome any night throughout the year! Depending on their age and grade, children will either join our Sparks group (Kindergarten-2nd grade) or our TNT group (3-6th grade).
Parents are encouraged to use the opportunity this program provides for by studying God’s Word with their children and helping them to grow in their understanding and application of the Bible.
