Andrés was born in Colombia and raised in a Roman Catholic home. At the age of ten, his family moved to Canada, where a high school friend invited him to a youth group. There, he heard and believed the gospel. He later completed an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and married his wife, Courtney, in 2011. Together, they moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where Andrés earned both his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Southern Seminary. He now serves as Associate Professor of New Testament at California Baptist University. He and Courtney have three daughters—Elyce, Lily, and Lucy. Andrés enjoys reading, swimming, board games, and volleyball. He loves spending time with college students both in and out of the classroom, helping them treasure the beauty of the gospel, delight in God’s Word, and live in the freedom Christ offers.
